This past Tuesday, the Miami Hurricanes earned their 27th commitment from the 2014 recruiting class as defensive tackle Michael Wyche gave the Hurricanes his verbal commitment. Wyche is in the top 10 when it comes to 2014 recruits from the state of California.
The Monterey Park, California native choose the Canes over the Arkansas State Red Wolves, Troy Trojans, USC Trojans, and Washington State Cougars.
The 2014 JUCO defensive tackle originally committed to the USC Trojans back in early May, but decided to change in favor of the Canes.
According to the Miami Herald, Wyche had this to say about his commitment to Miami:
“It’s funny, because I didn’t even know about the NCAA stuff. I committed, and then the coaches told me about it. They were like, ‘Today is an exciting day.’ I was like, ‘Why?’ And they said, ‘Because now we are moving forward from the NCAA.’ ”
Wyche’s commitment is No. 27 overall for the Hurricanes and moves their class to 5th overall in the 247Sports class rankings.
The four-star recruit is currently ranked 7th in the state of California, 8th among defensive tackles, and 29th among 2014 junior college recruits by 247Sports.
